Hi,
My name is Michael Reyes I have been training martial arts consistently for the last 14yrs. In 2010 I started training with an MMA club in Southern California focused on wrestling and striking. After about a few months I joined Kings MMA in Huntington Beach, CA. I spent 6 years under Coach Rafael Cordeiro from Brazil and a chute box lineage. In that time, I trained mostly striking specifically for MMA. I was offered a hand full of fights by Rafael Cordeiro, I trained alongside and regularly sparred with multiple amateur and professional fighters. At the time I lacked a submission game so I made the choice to decline the fights. During that period I also spent 2 years working with many amateur fighters out of my garage gym & I ran a striking cardio class a few days a week. Since I moved to Arizona in 2016 I started my Jiu Jitsu journey and I currently train as a Purple belt at 10th Planet Jiu jitsu Phoenix under John Botello. I have a deep passion for teaching and invest my self in to every one of my students. I’ve been with my amazing wife for over 22yrs and we have a beautiful 10yr old daughter. Youth Coach Ty Elowe,
Ty has been training with us for many years. Ty has competed in many jiu jitsu tournaments and is currently a blue Belt in Jiu Jitsu under 10th Planet Phoenix. He is great with kids, enjoys teaching and trains every day. He is currently also training to become a pilot and assisting in our kids programs.
